Director, Training and Professional Development


The primary function of the Training and Development Director is to design, develop, and deliver effective training and professional development programs for all GMCS/GMF employees. This position will drive training initiatives in order to improve productivity of GMCS/GMF employees and align resources with expected company growth patterns. The position will work with and through our training division, Northeast Safety & Security Training Academy (NESSTA), to provide both internal and external training regimine’s within the GMCS/GMF marketplace.


  • Oversee and enhance the training and development infrastructure through NESSTA for both GMCS/GMF and externally.

  • Work closely with HR Manager, Business Development and Operations Management staff to ensure labor resources are adequate to meet the needs of company growth and expectations within budgeted and forecasted requirements.

  • Develop NESSTA revenue growth through external sources via certification and licensing, webinars, corporate and non-profit functions and activities.

  • Design/develop successful training programs for GMCS and GMF

    • Including creation of lesson plans & power point presentations

    • Continuously update trainings in order to keep up to date with industry, state and federal guidelines

  • Identify and implement professional development programs for all employees, including career-pathing and promotional ladders.

  • Oversee security guard licensing of all staff and keep up to date on each state's licensing regulations and requirements.

  • Track certifications, pay rate increases and license expirations.

  • Track state security guard agency licenses and renewals.

  • Implement and oversee the integration of certified trainers in all states and/or regional offices as needed.

  • Manage Administrative Assistant and Reception/Inventory positions.

  • Work closely with and assist Regional Managers regarding recruitment, staff development and

  • Create and maintain relationships with internal management team, as well as industry peers.

  • Evaluate and follow up on training in order to establish professional development paths for employees.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Training, or other related field.

  • 3-5 years as a trainer using a variety of tools and methodologies designed for content delivery.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of learning and development principles and practices

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Demonstrated sound strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate strategic ideas into the implementation of a long term vision.


Event Security

Whether you're looking for a part-time job that brings you face-to-face with some of the biggest and best events in the Northeast or you're interested in a rewarding career, GMCS wants you to be a part of it's team. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants will be expected to complete the state and GMCS required training program for the state they wish to work in. Applicants will be eligible to work once they complete the first 8 hour session and are accepted by that state.

Applicants are encouraged to obtain multiple state's licenses as there will be some traveling to events in New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island and others.

Applicants will need to pay for their initial state license at the time of the first 8 hour training class. Vermont - $60.00, New York - $141.75, New Hampshire - $40.00, Connecticut - $209.25, Maine $25.00.

Traffic Control

Green Mountain Flagging, LLC is currently hiring for “Flaggers” or “Traffic Control Technicians”.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must have transportation to jobsite.

All applicants applying for the “Traffic Control” position must complete Green Mountain Flagging’s 4 hour traffic control course, to be certified by the ATSSA and Vermont Work zone registered. Flaggers are required to stand for long periods of time, and move around heavy traffic control devices, so all applicants must be in good physical shape.
